Hon. Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem
launched the Electronic Immunization Registry today, at an event held in Male’
Electronic Immunization Registry, which is
being implemented with support from WHO and UNICEF, is hosted on the DHIS2
health data platform, which is used in many countries to collect and analyse
various types of health information. This electronic registry provides a single
digital platform to access, record and manage information related to vaccines
given to children from any vaccination center across the country.
This platform will track vaccinations
given to children from multiple facilities in a single record. This allows the
longitudinal tracking of immunization status from birth for each child. Hence,
this provides a solution for vaccination centers to easily verify the previous
vaccination records of a child.
It will also assist the National Immunization
Program to timely monitor the national immunization coverage and aid in
ensuring that every child is on track in completing the vaccinations as per the
national immunization schedule.
The National Immunization Program
works to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases by providing
timely, quality vaccinations to all eligible children.
