The SDG health profile launched today by MoH focuses on the work that is being undertaken to achieve 13 targets of SDG goal 3 “Good Health & Well-being”. It also focuses on other health related goals such as ‘Ending hunger, achieving food security and improving nutrition as all SDG’ are related to health. It also promotes SDG’s related to other respective organizations.
The SDGs being the global developmental agenda, MoH is working towards achieving this by incorporating the health SDGs in to the national Health Master Plan (HMP) 2016-2025. Additionally, the statistics of the review report of HMP 2016-2025 would enable provision of updates of health related SDGs as well. The SDG Technical Coordination Committee formed on 12th January 2016 collaboratively works to implement and monitor health related SDGs in Maldives.
Thus, the SDG health profile launching today shows a summary of main health initiatives of 2017 contributing towards the achievement of health SDG’s. This SDG health profile would be reviewed annually or bi-annually with the relevant sectors and shared with the public accordingly.
