Ministry of health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The areas of collaboration under this MOU include Collaborative research and its publication, exchange of academic staffs and researchers, exchange of information and educational material, exchange of undergraduate and post graduate students and co-supervision of research students.
UKM is one of five research universities in Malaysia with a strategic direction to be the regional leader in academic and research excellence. UKM owns a teaching hospital and Faculty of Medicine known as UKM Medical Centre. In taking various initiatives to enhance its academic and research capabilities, UKM has established partnerships with various organizations.
The signing of this MOU will formalize the relationship between UKM and Maldives, opening more opportunities that would be beneficial for both parties and would directly and indirectly contribute to the improvement of the Healthcare system of the Maldives.
